Otovent Self-Inflation Kit, 1 Device & 5 Balloons, 1 set

The Otovent package contains a special balloon and a special accessory that helps to secure the balloon in the nostril. The ear muscles are trained by regularly exercising with OTOVENT by blowing with your nostril into the balloon through the special accessory.

Balloons contain LATEX. If you are allergic to latex or latex products, consult your doctor before using this product. If you experience any allergic symptoms, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.

Keep out of reach of children.

Treatment of children should always be supervised by an adult. Never use pediatric balloons when performing the Otovent® procedure, as these balloons do not provide the correct inflation pressure and the treatment may fail.

Some people may suffer from frequent episodes of anterior nosebleeds. The condition is annoying but harmless, any action on the nose can trigger an episode (nose picking, nose blowing or balloon inflation). Usually the condition can be easily treated with a visit to an ENT doctor.

Why should I use Otovent®?

Otovent® can be used in any situation where there is an inability to cope with negative middle ear pressure (eustachian tube dysfunction, otitis media with fluid collection, during or after flying, after diving, treatment in a pressure chamber). These conditions, if not treated, can lead to a temporary feeling of heaviness and hearing problems. After a few weeks, fluid can also accumulate in the middle ear.

How does the Otovent® method work?

The Otovent® method can be divided into two phases:

• Both phases allow the Eustachian tube to open.
• The inflation phase: when you inflate the balloon by blowing through your nostril.
• The deflation phase (Use only if the inflation phase is ineffective): when you release the air flow from the balloon into your nostril, and perform a series of swallowing movements.

It is recommended to use the inflation phase the first few times you use Otovent®. However, only if you do not feel any pressure equalization as a result of the inflation phase should you use both phases.

Who can use Otovent®?

Adults and children from the age of 3. Treatment of children should always be supervised by an adult.

How often and for how long should I use Otovent®?

Initially Otovent® should be used at least three times a day (morning, noon, evening). After one week, it should be used at least twice a day (morning and evening). The normal duration of treatment is 2-3 weeks, after which the doctor should decide whether or not to continue the treatment. Each medical balloon should be inflated a maximum of 20 times.

When should you not use Otovent®?

You should not use Otovent® if you are suffering from acute otitis media or an upper respiratory tract infection.

How can I use Otovent®?

Inflation phase

• Attach the nose piece to the balloon.
• Hold the round part of the nose piece firmly in your right nostril with your right hand. Press to close your left nostril using the fingers of your left hand.
• Inhale deeply and close your mouth. Inflate the balloon until it is the size of a grapefruit, blowing through your right nostril.
• Repeat the process with your left nostril.
• Some patients may experience ear discomfort or dizziness during inflation. This initial sensation will decrease during the next inflation and is an indication that the procedure is being performed correctly.

If you don't feel anything in your ear, repeat step 2 but tilt your head forward and then to the right, then repeat step 3.

Deflation phase (Only to be used if the inflation phase is ineffective).
If you still don't feel anything in your ear, then once you have inflated the balloon, still keeping your mouth closed, and with the nose piece firmly in your nostril:

A. Perform a series of swallowing movements (do not swallow the air from the balloon).

B. Repeat the above steps with your left nostril.

Maintenance
Clean the nosepiece with mild soap after use. Rinse the nosepiece with clean water. Discard used balloons after they have been inflated 20 times.

For orders that do not exceed 3kg of volumetric weight*, the shipping cost is €3.00 when the order is under €50. For orders over this amount, shipping is free!
For orders over 3kg of volumetric weight*, there is an additional charge of €2.30 per extra kilogram.
If the chosen payment method is cash on delivery, there is an additional fee of €2.50.

BOX NOW Shipments up to €150

Shipping costs are calculated as follows:

• €4.30 for a medium locker (dimensions 17x45x62cm, up to 4kg)

• €6.90 for a large locker (dimensions 35x45x62cm, up to 7kg)

For orders over €150, shipping is free.

The parcel remains in the locker for 48 hours, with the possibility to extend for an additional 24 hours upon user request.

Shipping to Cyprus and International Destinations

Orders are shipped via DHL Courier. Shipping costs are calculated based on the destination zone and product weight. You will be notified via email of the final shipping cost.
Prepayment via bank transfer or card is required for order shipment.

In-store Pickup

Orders marked as “Pickup from store” are available after confirmation, provided all products are in stock. You will receive an SMS notification when your order is ready.

Orders remain available at the pharmacy for up to 5 business days, after which they are automatically canceled.
